Dentist designs a smile makeover customized to needs of Detroit patients
By Dr. Richard Bernstein
Many of Dr. Bernstein’s Detroit patients want a smile makeover that looks naturally improved, not like another person’s smile.
Uniquely your ownA treatment plan may include a mix of cosmetic and restorative procedures available at Richard S. Bernstein D.D.S. The design of your plan starts with a consultation and considers personal preferences and the condition of the teeth and gums.
You may be self-conscious about stains, shape, and spacing. A more desirable shape, shade, and size may be achieved with veneers, bonding, or professional bleaching. An examination may reveal deeply stained, crowded, gapped, or poorly-shaped and badly-worn teeth that require restorative care. A damaged tooth may be rebuilt with a filling, inlay, onlay, or crown. A tooth that otherwise may not be saved can be restored with root canal therapy followed by a crown.
Some stains may be indicative of internal damage. The intrinsic discoloration is often the result of fluorosis, or extensive fluoride use in childhood, or by medications such as tetracycline. This type of damage doesn’t respond to either chairside or take-home bleaching services. Teeth that are very dark, or have a blue, gray, or chalky white hue may need to be covered with the thin layers of porcelain known as veneers.
Limitless possibilitiesEven if you want or need a lot of treatments to restore the look and function of your teeth, you don’t have to do them all at once. The dental team works closely with you and your budget. To schedule a consultation at the Farmington Hills office, call 248.636.2100.
